Who WiE are?

IEEE Women in Engineering (WiE) is one of the largest international professional organizations with a global network connecting nearly 22,000 members in over 100 countries dedicated to promoting women in the field of technology and science, inspiring girls to follow their academic interests in a career in engineering and advance people in technology at all points in their life and career.

The WiE Student Branch Affinity Group of Democritus University of Thrace, also originally founded with this main purpose, continues its vision even more vigorously and focuses mainly on the combination and development of diverse and innovative ideas as well as the encouragement of young children to pursue this field through the implementation of the Pre-University, STAR and Mentoring programs. WiE DUTh SBAG gives you the opportunity to network with people all over the world, experience new challenges, discover and harness your leadership skills. Also, you will be able to be empowered in science and technology and join the annual teams consisting of a wide range of applications of electrical engineering and entrepreneurship.

Photomaniacs Team
Starting with Photoshop, why we need it and what's the relationship between a photographer and an editor, and moving on to it's environment and some of the tools. Later, they will learn about more specialized editing technics and tools, which will make the able to perfectly edit any image, no matter what the condition or the type of every photo is.

Computer Vision in Semiconductors Team
Starting with computer vision, how a computer perceives an image, and moving on to training neural networks, team members will be able to evaluate the performance of various micro-/nano-electronic devices using images from SEMs and AFMs.
